Obituary for Benjamin Floyd Chadwick

Benjamin Floyd Chadwick, 24, of Oakley, passed away April 30th, 2022. He was born November 21st, 1997, in Colby, Ks to Lonnie and Tami (Dawes) Chadwick. He was welcomed home by his big brother Trey Dawes, who helped him explore all the mischievous little things two boys can find together. Along the way each found their own calling and pursued them with great integrity. Although they didn’t always see eye to eye, brotherly love can be tough at times, but it is a true blessing and irreplaceable. Benjamin “Ben” grew up in Oakley and attended Oakley High School. He was a jack of all trades, but mostly enjoyed being a mechanic and a heavy machine operator. He was a hard worker and always willing to take on a new challenge, with his most recent venture working at the Pizza Hut, where he enjoyed socializing and connecting with his coworkers, who cared about him greatly. Ben was always on the go, whether it be helping a friend, tinkering, changing a tire, riding his motorcycle, working on project vehicles, or going to the lake. The most valued time was spent with family and friends. He loved family gatherings. His favorite part of the gatherings was to come over and enjoy all the food prepared. He enjoyed good company. Ben loved to tease/pick on all the little kids.

He was preceded in death by his grandma Ardith Chadwick; great grandpa Clyde Blair; great uncle Ben Barnes; uncle Dustin Criqui Sr, and many more loved ones.

Ben is survived by his parents, Lonnie and Tami Chadwick; brother Trey Dawes; grandparents Deveron and Myla Dawes; great grandmother Naida Blair and numerous other family members and friends.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022, at the United Christian Church, Oakley.
