Carol Janice Lovenstein, 81, of Colby, passed Friday, May 19, 2023. She was born October 23, 1941, in Colby, to Roy and Elva (Garrett) Livingston. Carol married Marvin Lovenstein on October 20, 1958. To this union three children were born. Marvin’s military career in the Air Force took the family all over the United States. They lived in California, South Carolina, Montana, Illinois, New Hampshire and retired in Colorado. In Colorado, Carol and her friend opened and operated Dust Busters, a house cleaning business. In 1995, Marvin and Carol moved back home to Colby. Carol enjoyed being part of the Red Hat Society, Young at Heart singing group and playing the part of Mrs. Claus at Santa City. She also enjoyed reading and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Marvin; children, Kelli Hankin, of Colby; Kevin (Eileen) Lovenstein, of Colby and Keith Lovenstein, of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Matthew, Grace, Jansen, Gerrick and Randi; great grandchildren, Sophia, Dexter, Kaydence, Gwen, Owen and Hayden; and sister Janet Stice, of Atwood.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with burial in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
