Obituary for Gerald Dean Lang
Gerald Dean Lang, 73, of Colby passed away Jan 22, 2022, with his family by his side. Jerry was born Jan 2, 1949, in Hoxie, KS, to Albert and Agatha (Pfannenstiel) Lang.
As a child Gerald attended Sacred Heart School in Colby. He was very involved in Boy Scouts and eventually earned his Eagle Scout rank. He graduated from Colby High School in 1967 and then continued his education at Colby Community College, graduating with an Associates in Business degree in 1969. He relocated to Claremore, Oklahoma in 1977 and started a 34-year career with WalMart. After retirement he returned to Colby to be closer to family.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by sister Sharon (Tom) Redmond; brother Ronald (Deborah) Lang; nieces, Nikki (Russ) Moellering and Sarah (Cole) Garcia; nephews Scott Lang and Shawn Lang and many great nieces and nephews, that he truly enjoyed spending time with.
Above all Gerald was a very devoted Catholic who cherished his faith and was very faithful in everyday life.
