Obituary for Roberta Samsel (Huffman)

Roberta “Bobby” (Huffman) Samsel passed away, Monday January 9, 2023, at the Logan County Senior Living Center, leaving behind many who loved her greatly and will miss her dearly.

Roberta Kay was born July 29, 1943, to Rose (Meis) and Alva Huffman. Bobby was the second youngest child. Bobby was raised and attended school in Oakley. She was raised Catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bobby loved her family, her dogs, the Denver Broncos, and Elvis.

Bobby spent her life working to help others. She worked in and managed many restaurants, worked in hotel services and in hospital and manor settings throughout Kansas and Missouri. Making many lifelong friends along the way.

Preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Virgil, Alva Jr., Clarence, Perry, Shirley and husband Fritz, Francis, Etta Jo and husband Lee and Tommy; infant nephews, Alfred and Larry; nephew Randy; and nieces by marriage, Cathleen and Carol.

Bobby is survived by her sister-in-law MaryAnn; nieces and nephews, Punky, Bill, by marriage Paulina, Rodney and Tina, PD and Micheline, Tracey and Wes, Jim, Jerry and Susan, Judy and Mitch, Veronica and Ken, Boyd and Charlotte, Bonnie and Johnny, Rex, Matt and Julie, Mike and Lacey; many other great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews; neighbors and friends.

Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, also at the Mortuary with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Oakley.
