Obituary for Suzanne Elizabeth "Sue" Stoney (McClelland)
Suzanne “Sue” Elizabeth McClelland Stoney, of Herndon, Kansas, was born August 8, 1949, in Fairbury, Nebraska. She died on December 1, 2022, at the age of 73 in Kearney, Nebraska.
Sue was united in marriage with Lewis Stoney on May 7, 1966. To this union were born four children: Teresa, Daniel, Barbara and Elizabeth.
Sue and Lewis made their forever home in Herndon, Kansas. Sue found her passion in geriatric care and spent many years providing facility care as well as in home care. Sue had a talent for crochet and created many beautiful afghans. She loved her flower garden and plants and enjoyed tending to them.
Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Stoney; her parents, George McClelland and Marian Garcia; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Roseanna Stoney; her brother, Robert McClelland; and two great-granddaughters.
Sue is survived by her husband, Lewis, of the home; her children Teresa (Terry) Gotchall, of Ogallala, Nebraska; Daniel (Myra) Stoney of McCook, Nebraska and Elizabeth Stoney, Rexford, Kansas; granddaughters, Rosemarie (Tristan) and Haley (Jeron); grandsons Paul, Austin and Dalton, her brother Bill McClelland and sister Claudia McClelland; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Herndon.
