Obituary for Veronica Emelia Olson (Pettera)
Veronica Emelia (Pettera) Olson, 96, of Westminster, Colorado passed away on April 29th, 2022 at home.
Veronica was born in Ludell, Kansas to Joseph and Emma Pettera on March 28th, 1926. She attended high school at St. Mary’s and finished in the 1970s with a GED from District 50. She was employed as a cook and a housekeeper, as well as working for Macy’s and Joslin’s for many years. She enjoyed attending church and watching her favorite shows, which were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Veronica is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Jack) Reed, Tamalyn (Wade) Stevens, Sheryl (Joseph) Hunt, Vera Olson, and Shawn (Bruce) Wamsley. She is also survived by her grandchildren John Paul Reed, Kurt Jones, Amelia Reed, Telia Lewis, Richard Hunt, Johnathan Hunt, Christopher Reed, Khloe Jones-Pede, Donald Lewis, Kallen Hunt, Zane Reed, and Harrison Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Severen Olson and her grandson Richard Wade.
Veronica loved her entire family, including her grandpuppies!
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Herndon, KS. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m., with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Herndon, with burial in the church cemetery.
